Foods That Cause Acne-Six Foods To Avoid If You Want Clear Skin

Acne is a skin problem; your skin is the biggest organ of your body. Diet is of course going to play a significant role in helping to create inner health and balance. Lasting clear and unblemished skin can only be achieved by attaining inner health. Maybe the ideal place to start is to look at foods that cause acne rather than covering the biggest organ of your body in aggressive chemicals.
Here`s a summary of some of the main suspect foods that cause acne.

1. Fats and oils
It is well known that high fat diet has a serious harmful effect on your general health. Not only with the circulatory problems of clogged arteries, there are blood sugar level problems. Hormonal imbalance can be created by this, which is one of the leading suspects in sebum overproduction and blocked pores. Most people can relate an acne flare up after a junk food binge; try to replace the high fat food with lower fat, unprocessed natural, healthier foods,. Don`t forget that the fats will be quickly absorbed by your body and stored for a lasting harmful effect.

2. Dairy products
Considering that a high proportion of milk comes from pregnant cows it is very high in hormones as well as fat (see point 1). Overproduction of sebum oil, resulting in more acne, is triggered by hormonal imbalance.

3. Sugar and refined carbohydrates
The problem with sugar is that, not only is it a refined chemical with no nutritional value (just calories). Sugar intake causes blood sugar levels to rise rapidly prompting your body into a counter response of a surge of hormones and insulin. This boost in hormones causes acne breakouts by increased acne p bacteria growth encouraged by the overproduction of sebum oil.

4. Caffeine
Caffeine triggers hormone release which is linked to acne aggravation, also causes disturbed sleep which is necessary to help with stress control, hormonal imbalance and stress have been linked together, as well as having a general bad effect on health.

5. Processed foods
Processed foods contain many preservatives, artificial colours, additives, artificial flavoring (to counter the lack of taste caused by over refining). These entire products act as poisons to the body and have to be removed somehow. The problem is one of the body’s ways of getting rid of toxins is through the skin; this causes further aggravation to the acne. Some people may also suffer allergic reactions to some of these chemicals that are being eaten as well as the increased fats, refined sugars and lack of vitamins.

6. Alcohol
As well as being a poison to your body, upsetting sleep patterns and affecting stress levels, alcohol consumption can result in hormone increase. The other side effect of alcohol is that it can be consumed in an environment where there is increased temptation to binge on junk food and nibbles (ever tried walking past the kebab shop when you`ve got the beer munchies!). How many people after a few beers have you heard make the statement” I could murder a nice healthy salad”
